It only requires two visits to our clinic and in most cases excellent results are achieved within 2 to 3 weeks.

Other options

Tooth whitening is an effective way of lightening healthy teeth a few shades but it doesn’t last for ever and will need ‘touching up’ in order to keep a constant level of whiteness. Thanks to our ‘home’ tray system we can supply you with additional gel to use as and when necessary. However, tooth whitening does have its limitations and isn’t a good option if your teeth are severely stained, blemished, cracked, or chipped. In this instance you might want to consider porcelain veneers. This treatment involves removing a little of the tooth enamel from the front of the tooth and covering it with a really thin veneer, almost like having a false nail applied. Being made from porcelain, we can match its colour to your other team for a seamless finish. It needs to be noted, however, that this is a permanent treatment and cannot be reversed. Veneers if cared for can last up to 10 years and will then need replacing.

Finally, you may want to consider crowns. In Bournemouth at Queens Park Dental we only ever extract teeth as a last resort and will often use crowns to restore badly decayed or damaged teeth. Crowns offer strength and support which a filling can’t and can be colour matched to your other teeth for a realistic effect.
